Unhappy FRM-40509: ORACLE error: Unable to UPDATE record.

FRM-40509: ORACLE error: Unable to UPDATE record.

I read somewhere that you can select "Display Error" to get the Oracle error behind the Form error (as per above message).
Our 9i Forms application was developed by a contractor and is therefore beyond my experience. We don't get the option to "Display Error" in our browser; can anyone tell me what the contractor could have programmed into the application in order to disable this? Hopefully I can find the code and enable it again in order to view the backend ORA-ERROR from my browser.

I have tried debugging the form at run-time and get nowhere.

I would really appreciate any help or ideas.

    Many thanks,
    Mel

Mel, prob wont have much luck on this forum with forms as no-one knows much about it. Have you tried the OTM forums?

I haven't used Forms in a while, but there always used to be a "Key Help" or similar option, that listed the available function keys, so "Display Error" has been remapped, that should tell you the new key. Assuming Forms still has that option.
