    Q: redo log shipping

    Hi,

    it is possible to setup manual ,a standby database with redo log shipping
    in the ORACLE STANDARD EDITION?

    if so, can the redo logs be shipped between different OS´s?
    Master: AIX + Oracle Standard Edition
    Standby: Linux + Oracle Standard Edition

    You can, http://www.niall.litchfield.dial.pipex.com/ and there is a set of scripts for windows you can modify them for Unix if you want to.

    And no you cant change between OS's, they need to be the same

    It may be possible in 10g. I am not sure I have not done that.
