    I have a NetFiler720 standalone stoarge device. I posted a few days ago about creating logfiles and finally was able to do it but only to a local drive.

    alter database add logfile group 28 'J:\log28.ora' SIZE 10M
    *
    ORA-00301: error in adding log file 'J:\log28.ora' - file cannot be created
    ORA-27040: skgfrcre: create error, unable to create file
    OSD-04001: invalid logical block size (OS 512)

    Anyone seen this invalid block size error before? i can creat a 10M file on the local NT disk

    SOLVED

    For anyone other Oracle folks with a NetApp Filer...it is NetApp bug and there is a patch available at their website.
