you are running status before starting it. What else do you expect, it even tells you "no listener"

    no dave

i have started the listener already

it is just i gave the sequence order wrong when i posted this message in forum.

first i should have put "start" message and then status

    till now no luck

Are there any details in "/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/network/log/listener.log" that might shed a little more light?
