    order

    I was wondering is there any order to follow while runnning the following three or it doesn't matter


    coalesce tablspace

    index rebuild

    Anlayze tables

    seeing as though they are all completely separate things and 2 of them you shouldnt really be doing anyway.

    Always analyze my friend... Think carefully about index rebuilds. Is the effort of rebuilding them really outweighing the benefits? Google index rebuilds and you'll see lots of arguments against index rebuilds, and one or two that are for index "Burleson" rebuilds.

    LOL - a guy here did a load of index rebuilds the other day and he said he saved 2-3 Gb in disk space. I really didn't have the energy to get into a 'discussion' about it

    and tell him to watch that disk space grow again then ask him 'why bother'
