    Question

I have found many UNIX shell scripts that monitor the ALRT.LOG for errors and mail the DBA when there is a problem. Is there any such scripts for oracle on NT, or is there something in OEM that I dont know about that does this function?
    Thanks,
    SM

In OEM 2.1 there's an event that monitors the alert file.

Whenever an error occurs in the alert-file, the event gets raised.

    I use it.
    I like it.

    Question

    Thanks Denevge,

Do you know if that event can be created in OEM 1.3.6?
Is there a way to export and import events?
If not I will have to upgrade to OEM 2.1

    Thanks,
    SM

    Hi, denevge:

How do you setup the event (telling you the error when it is being detected in alert file) on OEM 2.1? I just installed OEM 2.1. I am trying to get familiar with it.

    Thanks.
