One Listener two Server Item
Hi,
is it possible to configure a (or several) listener so that it points to an other instance on a remote server?
Does it work at all "redirecting" the request to a remote server with a different instance. It's not a parallel server item. The reason I ask is, that we only wan't to promote one server address from which the request is "redirected" to other instances.
Any ideas?

a listener doesn't have to be on the same server as the database, they can be separate - is that your question?

Yes,
this is one part of the question.
Supose that after a standard installation the remote database server has a listener too, dealing also with some other databases that we don't care about. Would this work, or would sarting ans stopping "my" listener affect the listener on the remote side?

no they can be separate, two listeners can listen for the same database so stopping and starting one wont affect the other
