During backup of temp tablespace DB's bounces to secondary node
Hi ,
The databse is on a unix cluster node.During (hot)backup
of my temp tablespace. DB's is bouncing to secondary node.What could be the possible reason???

have you checked your cluster logs? system logs? does it always happen? have you investigated a bit by yourself?

I am new to cluster environment. Where to look for the cluster logs and system logs.Any commands to look for that?

Which release?
Is your TEMP tablespace made of temporary files? If so, why do you even backup the TEMP tablespace? You don't have to, there is no point in backing up tempfiles.

In general HA software (Sun HA or Veritas) periodically uses sqlplus to login into database and inserts/updates a table with in certain period of time. If the execution takes longer time, then the HA thinks some thing wrong in the database connection, so it failover to other node.
Check up your hot backup script one more time. And ensure that you did not put the DB under restricted mode.
