steps to migrate from 8i to 9i

    Hi,
My database size is 300GB on windows environment. Apart from doing export and import(which works). I want to try some other ways which is faster. When i search i get lot of informations. I want the necessary steps to migrate from 8i to 9i.

    Many Thanks,

300GB database can be done in about 60 minutes with dbua (on linux, anyway).

    Many Thanks,
    The easiest way is to
    1. Take backup of database.
    2. Install oracle9i with different home.
    3. Run dua (Database upgrade Assistant), which will migrate your
    oracle8i database to 9i
