    setting session parameter

    Is it possible to set session modifiable init.ora prameter to a different session ?

    Say i (BLAKE) want to enable nls_language=american for SCOTT'S session.

    Looks like there is no option in oracle to do this.

    Oh yes, there is. It's available through DBMS_SYSTEM package, which is undocumented, so you are using it on your own risk! There are two procedures there: SET_INT_PARAM_IN_SESSION and SET_BOOL_PARAM_IN_SESSION. You can search the web for how to use them....
