    Script for a cold backup

I am looking for a script that -

    shuts down the database
makes a copy of OS files
    brings it back up.

Does anyone has a script/template like that? If you do not have it for a coldbackup, how about for a online hotbackup?

You can post it or I can provide my email address.

Nope, flunked high school english, that was back in the time when plagiarism was NOT an accepted form of Journalism! 30 years later, people have figured out... Reuse... Why reinvent a wheel. Just improve it.
I believe in the concept that there is "No original thought". I can't think of anything (off hand) that has been done lately, that wasn't an improvement on something else, or designed from some other concept.
But I digress, this is quite off topic. Hopefully you found what you needed.
