    9i Agent on Solaris

    I installed Oracle 9i on SUSE 9.
Now I need to install Oracle 9i agent on Solaris 8.
    What steps do I take?

I understand I need the runInstaller script and choose "client" option but do I need to install JRE or some patches?
I have 512MB of RAM on this machine and 524MB of swap.

Fire up the 9i Server Installer on your solaris box, and do a custom install and look for just the agent option. The agent is NOT on the client software

Bear in mind it makes sense to install the agent in a separate home, in case you need to patch it independantly of the database.

Also consider patching the agent to 9.2.0.5/6, a lot of the earlier 9i agents had memory leak issues.
