    clustering? database on mutiple servers

    hi,

We are planning for hardware upgrade on our database server. couple of questions or ur suggestion on this

    a) is it better to have one single bulk server or two or more servers which database spread across them?

    b) in case of database across multiple servers, how to configure this? can someone please guide me to the concepts of this, any links, documents.

Oracle version currently is 9i, no problem if suggestions come from 10g.

    regards,
    Sudhi

you can spread a database across multiple servers. What you can do is spread instances across servers which access a common database which lives in shared disk.

This is called RAC, go to tahiti.oracle.com and search on it
