    RMAN Conf.

    Dear all,

    I have been asked by one of our customer that keeping the production database and RMAM catloge in the same database is good or in different machine in different database is good.

    who to configure rman backup for a production database.

    absolutely keeping the catalog in different database is good as you need the catalog to recover ur production database. if keeping catalog in the same database, how do you recover the database if the control file doesn't have all backupset info?
