    recover a table

    how to recover the particular table from archive log...accdiently one table has been drop... how to recover that table, from previous day backup.. with out the shuting the db... my backup is hot backup

    you dont mention version, if 10g it will be in the recycle bin. Otherwise you will either have to roll the whole database back to before the drop - or do tablespace point in time recovery and then exp/imp on the table

    I would restore my db to another server, export the table in question, and import to my prod db.

    It sucks that RMAN doesnt allow us to restore invidual tables...I am assuming because of consistency? I would suggest taking daily exports to confident too..
