2 servers made a part of RAC with OCFS. The 3rd server would contain the Oracle Dataguard physical standby database which is a mirror of our production database that is updated continuously via Oracle mechanisms.

If the RAC cluster fails we can convert that standby database on the 3rd server into the live production database. It will remain an Oracle database (no RAC) till the first two servers are repaired and brought back online. The 3rd server is not a RAC and does not have OCFS.

CAN BACKUP OF THE ORACLE DB TAKEN FROM A NTFS VOLUME (3rd server) BE RESTORED TO THE ORACLE DB ON RAC (OCFS) VOLUME(repaired RAC with OCFS)
