Oracle Database Multiple Schema(s) / Multiple Servers

    Dear Experts

We are planning to deloy an ERP application for our 4-5 Sister compnaies on the single oracle database server.

Hardware is not a constraint but the requirement is to keep data separated for each companies.

I have tried to explain the management , pros and cons for not choosing multiple oracle database server and keeping mutiple schema for each company.

point i have to is hardware resources will be more per database server, maintainance will be nightmare, etc.

Can anybody give me more details or some internet links ,on the above said subject to convince my management.

    Thanks

    Swapnil Gadkari

If you're going with something like Oracle Apps, you will have to do multiple instances since all the GL stuff is in the GL schema, AR is in AR, etc...
