Applying patch 9.2.0.6
Hi,
I am planning in installing 9.2.0.1 on windows 2003 server and upgrade to 9.2.0.6.
Can I directly upgrade 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.6.
In read me file it tells that I can upgrade from 9.2.0.2 to 9.2.0.6.
Kindly can someone give me patch numbers and direction to upgrade to 9.2.0.6.
Thank you

Just a guess, but maybe you need to patch from 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.2 first.

I am not finding the patch through metalink patch search. Can anyone give the patch number for 9.2.0.2
Thanks

If you open an iTAR, there is a drop down which allows you to request specific patches.

I know on AIX you can go straight from 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.6. I would assume the same thing is true for Windows.

The readme that you are looking at is for 64-bit.
Are you running 64-bit EE/SE? If so, you have got to be running 9.2.0.2 already (because 9.2.0.2 is the *BASE* version on this platform).

There isn't a 9201 even available for Windows server 2003 64-bit.

If you took the time to understand stuff, you'd realize why he said so.

As far as I understand it, Oracle 9.2.0.1 is the base release and every 9.2 version after are patches to the base release so you should be able to install 9.2.0.1 and then upgrade to the release level that you want.
I know that in our HP-UX environment, we install 9.2.0.1 base release and then apply the 9.2.0.6 patch to bring the installation up to 9.2.0.6
I don't think this is any different for Windows.

See above link for Oracle 9i downloads. There isn't (and hasn't been) a 9201 available for Windows server 2003 64-bit.
