    Removing Archive logs in Standby

    Hi,

We have an Oracle data guard implemented. In the server where standby db is hosted, Archive logs is filling up the disk space.

Im wondering whether I can delete the old archive logs (like archive logs older than 30 days or so)

Is there any oracle views which help in assessing which archive logs can be safely removed from standby server.

    I appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks,

    VG

As soon as it is applied, you can whack it. I do a simple find -mtime +1 to keep mine in check.

    Removing Archive logs in Standby

    Thanks Jeff for the reply..

Is there any V$ view in the standby db side, to verify that all the old archive logs are applied and safe to delete.

    Thanks,

    VG

V$ARCHIVED_LOG.APPLIED will tell you wether the archlog has been applied to standby database or not. Once it has been applied, it is no longer needed for managed standby recovery.
