reorganizing the entire tablespace
Hi
There is tablespace fragmentation in my database? What is the best way to tune this without affecting current transcations in the database?
Thank you

Can you create a new tablespace, preferably locally managed. and then do online moves of the tables/indexes during periods of low use. You could try to schedule the moves via a batch job, and do it over several nights.

I have tried to add a new datafile.. do you think it will helps too?
-
honey, tablespaces always get fragmented and it does not always mean
it will degrade performance
-
Ok thanks deary Will continue to monitor... However, the additional datafile helps in the space management of the tablespace.

Hun, AFAIK, if a tablespace is full of segments and is not contiguous
it is fragmented
