    Listener Port

    Dear all,

As you all know, after listener receive a user connection, a new process is created to serve the request. Is there anything can be set to restrict the ports that can be used by the new process? For security reason, I don't want to open all ports that can be accessed by user.

    Thx very much in advance.

    Brgds,
    Loren

only ports you have defined in your LISTENER will be used by ORACLE DB and Applications.
Confirm to your network adminstrator which ports you want to use and which ports you want to be block.

RTM, on unix a new process is spawned with a completely random port as that guy said

Take a look at connection manager if you want to restrict these
