How to find which Operating system account user amoung three users
    installed the oracle software.
I assume that it will be registered somewhere.

In Windows it needs to be a user with Admin privileges. Take a look at the services and see which user they are running under. In Linux, take a look at the files and see who owns them. There should be an Oracle user in Linux. "ls -l $ORACLE_HOME" will show you the files in the directory and who owns them among other things.

Don't have a machine with oracle on to hand. What does more /etc/oraInst.loc give you?

Just a thought - does it really matter if you don't know who it was who was logged in as that user at the time?
If I have to choose between two evils, I always like to choose the one I haven't tried yet.
