Export Files size
Hi
My company is working with an indian based software company for developping a new application.
They sent me a dump file on Friday (size 35MB).
I have import the dump file on my system, our local developper team has done few testing and changes on the database (adding new structure and data).
At the end of the day, one of them asked me a dump file so he can work over the WE (the foul).
I have noticed that the new dump file size is dow to 24 MB.
Everything seems ok and functionnally no errors has been found
Can anyone explain me why this huge different of size ?
Thanks

Have you verified the Import log at the time of import?
Any deletions/truncate/drop table occured during modification?

Absolutely none (according to the developper team).

Verify and match the export and import logs.
Any difference you can able to see with the record count table wise
schema wise?
-
Same number of tables
On both import and export part the logs are fine

What about the Record count?
Column drop, Null value updation are some of the otherpossible reasons.
With this small amount of Data, you can able to analyse both the database easily to explore the difference.

This is an excellent suggestion. I wish I had thought about it earlier and by myself ! ;-(
