ORA-27091: skgfqio: unable to queue I/O

    Hi All,
    Oracle version 8.1.7.4, sun 2.7

Today morning one of our reporting database showed
ORA-27091: skgfqio: unable to queue I/O error.

The only change made was our sys admin removed one of the bad drives from the system when the db was up and running.

This database is running in NOARCHIVE LOG mode and is not being backed up due to various reason.

I ran dbverify and its reporting lot of block corruption.

I tried metalink for any advice on opening the database, but was not able to open the database.

Has any one come across such a situation and resolved the issue.

    Your help is greatly appriciate.

Sounds like an I/O error. Was the drive part of a RAID volume?

That shouldn't be a problem. After your filesystem resyncs, I would check the messages file for any additional disk related errors.
