    what is a concept?

    Hi everybody,

I know this is not an Oracle specific question, but if you have a seconde it would be nice if you could give me a short feedback.

I am looking for a definition of "a concept". What should a concpet exactly include.

The reason for that question is that I have some differences with my boss. His opinion is that a concept should also include the code for the idear which is discreab in the concept. But from my point of view the code or implementation of an idea is beyond of what a concept should include.

    Thanks for any feedback
    Mike

Ask Don Burleson, he seems to know all about precepts, perhaps he'll shed some light on concepts too...

    No, seriously, from my thesaurus:

concept - idea, thought, theory, model

Your boss is looking to tack a methodology for proving and achieving his concept (psuedo-code). If a concept is a theory, then it hasn't been proven yet because if it had it would be a fact.

In short, I agree with you.

I don't think he takes himself too seriously. One thing's for sure, he loves messing around with databases.

By his definition, I think he has already achieved inner peace. In fact he is an overachiever!

In any case, I don't want this to come-off like I'm bragging because I still have a long way to go on my journey for inner peace. With the help of my friends and mentors I continue my journey into the deep mysteries of the Redneck Theology and I continue to work hard to someday achieve a true state of Redneck.

    "Overachiever" .. lol

I did a double-take when I saw him at Oracle OpenWorld in a nice suit and white tennis shoes.
