From the descrip[tion of the accident, it seems really unlikely that the entire stick went down.
This sounds like the stories one always here's from ER nurses about people coming in with interestingly shaped objects inside them ... "I was cleaning my bicycle handle in the shower, when i dropped it and slipped on the soap ..."

Such a scenario would be asking for ridicule. Can you imagine walking into the ER with a bicycle handle sticking out of the backside?.....I would probably laugh at the poor sap that came in with that
