Question abt Backup

All,
Somebody had deleted all archivelogs in our database.
However, a cold backup was taken after this, using RMAN.

But, whenever we try to do hot backup and instruct RMAN to backup database plus archivelog, we get the "unable to locate file ... " error and the backup script terminates.

How to overcome this problem and start afresh?
Pls advice.

what does crosscheck archivelog all; do for you.

Also you dont mention version

Oracle 10g (10.1.0.3.0) on Linux ES 3
Crosscheck give sthe following:
validation failed for archived log
archive log filename=/orasystem/sfw/arch/1_515_546189296.arc recid=835 stamp=549640701

Any inputs to resolve this problem will be highly appreciated...

once you have done the crosscheck they will be set to expired

delete expired archivelog all;
