    Question Help! Oracle 8i Create SPFILE error

    Is it possible to create a spfile in Oracle 8i Enterprise 8.1.7.4.1?

    I issued the following command and got these results

    SQL> create spfile from pfile;
    Error at Line 1:
    ORA-00901: invalid create command

    Can anyone help?

    spfiles were introdcued in 9i.

    Quick scan of the documentation would of told you they don't exist in 8i
