    Solving the military recruitment shortfall.

    There's a strange kind of synergy between these two stories ...

    For the first time in nearly a decade, the Marine Corps missed its monthly recruiting goal in January in what military officials said was the latest troubling indicator of the Iraq war's impact on the armed services.

    ... the failure of the Marines, who historically have had the luxury of turning away willing recruits, is a potential problem for the service.

    Richard Kohn, a military historian at the University of North Carolina, said, "It's most troubling because the Marines tend to attract people who are the most macho, seek the most danger and are attracted by the service most likely to put them into combat."

    Great, thats ALL we need now, pay 4.1 million Germans to sachet around the world fighting US battles. Well, come to think of it, they've outsourced everything else, whats?.....hey, that might be the answer to the North Korea dilemma(kidding about the North Korea bit)

    I believe it is being done already, not the Germans, more like central and south America.

    OracleDoc, if my recollection of my history lessons are correct the colonists faught BOTH the British AND Hessens..........oh, and the Indians as well. The plate was quite full.
