    backup database

    Hi

    My current database os 9.2.0.4. It is possible to have a backup database in my IAS server which has its database version 9.0.1.4? Please advice, thanks!

    what do you mean by backup database?

    Hmmm, lets see if I can get you to answer your own question.....

    You have a 9.2.0.4 database and you want to create a hot standby of it.
    Hot standby definition: a duplicate database on another server (in recovery mode) that can be switched to be a fail over.

    So, based off of the hot standby definition.. if you have a 9.2.0.4 database would a 9.0.1.4 database be a duplicate?

    hi hunie,

    u may wish to create a 2nd database 9.2.0.4 in your IAS sever with different oracle_home so that u can use it as standby. and similarly
    another 9.0.1.4 duplicate database on the DB server.
