    Removing old alerts in 10G

How do you remove old alerts in 10G Grid Control?

I had an alert about a file system two weeks ago, saying 4% free in a domain. Since rectified the issue, now there's 30% free, i.e. well outside the default thresholds for the metric. But it still shows up as an alert. How the hell do I get rid of this?!?!

There's nothing in the documentation or on metalink.

Please could someone respond to this asap.

    Thanks in advance.

Were you ever able to clear this? I have the same situation here.

After playing with it for a little while we were able to get the alerts to clear.

All you have to do is go in and change the threshold value, save it, and then change it back to what it should was. FUN!!!

doing a emctl clearstate does the same thing as well, i ended up raising a TAR on this, and the reponse was:

    Hello Barry,
that's true. Old alerts somtimes not cleared. This problem is addressed for thenext major release (10.2) In which release it will be possible to de
    lete the alerts manually.
At the moment, please try the following:
Go to the node the alerts come from.
Stop the 10g agent on this node and run a
    emctl clearstate.
This will drop all the alerts for tha agent.
Please wait ater the restart of the agent some time. SO the OMS and the agent can synchronize.

    Totally impractical.

Another example how functionality has been lost from the older OEM's in order to rush out Grid control.
