I want to install Oracle 8.0.4 on AIX 4.3.2, others can installed
unless Oracle 8 Enterprise (RDBMS), Installer report an error:
    There ar still sgadef<SID>.dbf file(s) in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/.
This indicates that there may still be running instances.

but this system has not installed any oracle edition and no any
    instance is running.

delete the file sgadef* . Check the date of creation. Perhaps on that machine there were an oracle db (old version) not closed correctly.

    Wink Install Oracle8 error

There is a problem with HP-UX 10.20 and using the ksh shell that causes the same problem you are experiencing. The fix in this case is to edit olink/rdbms/install/rdbms/dbsup.sh and change the shell. Look on metalink.

Hi, I changed shell to others like sh,bsh, csh, and I commented the exit $nr_sga and add a new line:
    exit 0
    in the file olink/rdbms/install/rdbms/dbsup.sh,
but Oracle Installer report the error still,
    how can I do now?
