Title: Marketing System Database Administrator/IT

Position Summary:
Responsible for administering and supporting Meredith's Marketing Database and defining and administering the activities necessary to ensure this system and database meet user performance requirements. Help to design, implement, maintain, and administer the database structure to meet Meredith business requirements during all phases of implementation and operations. This person must have knowledge of current database designs, performance tuning, and logical-to-physical database design and implementation. Experience with related disciplines such as data modeling, SQL, ETL (Extract Transform Load), and application development is required.

Minimum Qualifications
All must be met to be considered

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field preferred with 5 years database administration experience and application development experience.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience with relational database administration including: 2 to 3 years in data modeling and mapping, 3 to 5 years in managing relational DBMS’s and a minimum 3 years of SQL Tuning experience. Experienced in operating system environment that DBMS will run – 3 to 5 years. Programmer in 3rd, 4th or GUI environment – 2 years. Experience with all levels of application development life cycle and in user interface design, client server design, and logical and physical database design.

Specific Knowledge:
Experience with Physical Database design, performance and tuning.Working knowledge ANSI SQL, UNIX – (MP-RAS), MVS. Knowledge of scaleable data warehouse methodologies. Current on Data Warehousing topics. Familiar with data management topics. Understanding of NCR’s WorldMark hardware configuration and capabilities, Teradata SQL, and Teradata database file system a plus.

Skills and Abilities:
Project management, analysis and problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent facilitation and communication skills. Must have a positive attitude and able to work with a wide range of personalities, business partners, and vendors. Interfaces with Users, Data Management Staff, Application Developers, Project Managers, and System Administration and Operations Staff.
