Angry runInstall does not run at all !

    Hallo all,

my os is red head 8.0
    my db is oracle 9.2.0.1

now I want to install the patch vor oracle 9.2.0.5

to do that, I must run ./runInstall

when I try that, I got the following error
    message:

    ---------------------------------------
    Checking installer requirements...

    Checking operating system version: must be redhat-2.1, UnitedLinux-1.0, redhat-3, SuSE-7 or SuSE-8
    Failed <<<<

Exiting Oracle Universal Installer, log for this session can be found at /opt/oracle/product/oraInventory/logs/installActions2005-01-11_04-02-11PM.log

    ----------------------------------

    WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG?

    Thank you for your help!

instead of just posting the error, try reading what it says

Your os of 'Red Head 8.O' isnt supported so it wont run.

Your best bet is to get a ceritfied OS or edit the orapram.ini file or the /etc/redhat-release file

    Linux=rethat-8.0

After this change the Oracle Universal Installer was starting fine and the installation was finished without errors.

Thank you for inspiration and help!
