    Ora-00980

    Hello,

A user run the "Catproc.sql" script on a development box, and since then we get the "Ora-00980 Synonym translation is no longer valid" when we use OEM to check storage>Tablespace or datafiles? What has changed? What are the synonyms OEM is looking for that seemed dropped or moved?
    How can we fix it?

    Oracle enterprise 9.2.0.1.0
    Windows 2000 Adv. Server

Re-run the same script as sysdba but no changes, we still have the error.

    Thanks,

    Hi hun...

Maybe u can try to check all the invalid objects where object type
    ='SYNONYM' or
you can select count from all the synonyms to hit those invalid ones (select 'select count(*) from '||owner||'.'||synonym_name||';' from
    sys.dba_synonyms

    Then recreate it

Anyway.... If you run utlrp.sql it will compile all invalids for you. Also, just out of curiosity why would any DBA in their right mind let ANYONE run Catproc???
    Oracle it's not just a database it's a lifestyle!
