I've been trying to get OMS working so I can use some of the GUI features but I've encountered some problems. For example, when I try starting OMS from the command line (OEMCTRL START OMS) I get the following:
OEMCTRL for Windows NT: version 2.1.0.1.0
Starting the Oracle Management Server... VXA-3008 starting OMS Server, wait.
[host16."xxxx".net."IP address".in-addr.arpa-DiscoveryThread[2000-11-30:8:40:53:539] Discovery of [host16."xxxx".net."IP address".in-addr.arpa] failed due to null.
The OMS is now started and ready.
That's odd because the service has not started according to NT.
Can anyone tell me why it keeps trying to use [host16."xxxx".net."IP address".in-addr.arpa] when I configured it to use "console1:1521:reponame"?
Should I turn off discovery? If so, how?
I'm not a DBA but I have that dangerous little bit of knowledge!
