Prometric Vouchers, & marathon test preps
I am still planning to take 1z0-023,24,25,26 in a 3 week span. I hope to pass in first run. But just in case have one last chance in Dec if I can test all four in Nov.
I have ExamCram books, exam study software, Oracle Library subs, and online OCP class instructions and practice exams. I have also downloaded pdf files of study questions. I have just passed the 007 exam at 78% (Yea, I am disappointed too considering how much studying I put into it). PROBLEM is I have too much material to read and study it all and still marathon through all the 8i tests. QUESTION: I am seeking suggestions of how to pump the brain to pass the exam then after passing the last one go through all the material and increase my real knowledge of 8i. Then next year begin work on upgrade to 9i certification.
I did Jason Couchman's book on 007 and SkillSoft's training course for 001 & 007. Lastly I did 155 of the d/l questions off the internet. (everyone seems to have the same set as far as I can determine. everyone has the same count of questions for each course set so I downloaded the free set from "braindump" or some such.) I was expecting to get 90+% and ended up with only 78%. I am a little concerned as I was studying for 8+ weeks and intensely for last two. I developed two simple applications and learned a lot of SQL+ and PL/SQL commands that way. I have installed 10g for practicing most commands still supported.
Here are my time estimates:
SkillSoft (SmartCertify) Oracle 8i (one exam prep) 5 days incl family sleep and full time job.
ExamCram book - approx 3-4 days as above mix.
Oracle Library OCP prep 8i (one course equiv) 11 days estimated
Study pdfs 1 day 1st trip through, 1/2 day to review subsequently.
Total 5+4+11+1+2*1/2 = 22 days - Thats 17 days too much. What should I skip and what to conecntrate on for the test to pass first time?
I am in middle of 1z0-023 prep right now and it is hard remembering what all the v$thingies do and even more so when joined with another is even more complicated. Looks like brute memory is only way.

Prayer:
I admire you... to get certified in such short period of time.
From my experience, if you can pass the self test questions, you should be ok.
I am preparing the 9i upgrade exam.
Good Luck.

Sybex and STS are all you need (without memorizing Q&A's off of some braindump printout). STS is exactly what the exam is like. And it should be, because STS is the "official" test simulator vendor for Oracle. Network admin is by far the easiest exam, so no need to give it equal weight with respect to study time. Spend a week on each exam, a few hours every night and some time on the weekend. Answer the chapter quizzes in the Sybex books at 90% and you will be well-prepared. Sybex is weak on RMAN in the B&R section, but the exam as a whole is passable if you know the rest well enough.
