    In this regard,

I do have the installtion guide. While attempting to perform pre-installation tasks, I could not run clustersetup.exe. Hence I posted this question and wanted to know the pre-installation tasks to be performed.

As the reply to my question has come from an astute persons as you gentlemen, obviously are, I am reframing my question.

I am sure that this clarification sounds meaningful.

    regards

Since you don't specify any version, I'm certain you are using Oracle 10g (after all, that is the most current release, so for anyone not specifying their release I'm assuming he is using the lates Oracle software).

Now, I've installed 10g RAC on Windows platform several times, and there is no need to run any clustersetup.exe at all. So?

    The version 9.2.
I have tried to perform the pre-installation tasks as explained in the manual. Hence the necessity for clustersetup.exe. However, as you have indicated that there is no necessity, please elucidate.

    Tks& regards

elucidate? wtf? are you talking down to me?

Ask your dba why he cannot run clustersetup.exe? Perhaps there may be something useful like an error reported or something silly like that.
