Recovery of a table from 806 - Possible ??
HI guys
Any idea if a dropped table with data can be recovered from 8.0.6.3.0. The database is not archived.
Can we use log miner in oracle 9.2 to extract the data from 806 logfiles?? if yes can you help me to guide me.
Thanks for your help.
Best regards

if the database is in no archive log mode, then how are you going to mine the logs (was log miner even in 8?)
restore from a backup

Even if you can use the old script based version of log miner in 8, how is this going to help you? The archive logs will record changes to the table, not all the table data (unless you did a 'Delete from' first). If you haven't got a backup, then the table can't be THAT important...

Can you restore your database and create a new instance. Then export the table that was lost and import into your prod database. Then you will need to make any changes to the table that you missed.
While you are maintaining you database, you might want to turn on archivelog and then upgrade to 9i.

Hi all
Thanks for your valuable replies.
Since this is a trial database, we only have weekly cold back up. apparently needed to be restored from backup. What a costly mistake it would have been had it been in production database.
Thanks once again.
