    number of Virtual ip's in RAC two node active - active setup

    Hi friends ,

    i just want to confirm how many virtual IP's i need to configure for RAC two node active active setup .

    one consultant said we will be having two virtual ip's ...
    i was thinking we will be having single virtual Ip address.

    how is this kind of setup usually configured

    any insight would be appreciated .

    Single VIP address per node, that's two VIPs per two-node cluster. So both you and the consultant were right (if you were thinking per node and the consultant per cluster).
