If you're working freelance how do you get MetaLink access at a reasonable price? (Just curious.)

As being a past "freelancer" working for companies, everyone who runs Oracle has a CSI number. That's the first thing I ask for. Like when I got to my present assignment. No one knew wtf I was talking about so after some searching and getting license numbers I got the developers and myself setup on Metalink.

It's not hard to do and even if you are a temporary "freelance" consultant to a company, I'm sure the Metalink admin for the company would be glad to setup an account for you.

All these people who post on here about not having a Metalink account or can't get one I say BUNK!
    Oracle it's not just a database it's a lifestyle!

Take/Took a vacation. What else would I do? lol

But, I get what you're saying. I've found that 9 times out of 10 previous employers forget to take you off the list anyway. Also, you can have several csi numbers associated with your profile.
Come on Dapi you know as well as I do that the only time people are going to ask questions here is if they've run into a problem which means they're working on a database, which means they have to have a license.

You can buy metalink access for not very much I think.

Also with the licensing. If you are a freelancer then you are using your Oracle products at home for commercial gain so you must have a license? therefore you get a CSI ..... maybe

So what are you trying to say Dapi that you don't have access to Metalink either?

I am currently employed, with MetaLink access. I've often contemplated what I might do if the situation changed (intentionally or otherwise). From what I've seen here and in real-life, I'd be far from the worst "consultant" DBA on the block (and far from the best too).

Well, I'm sure with your contacts and friends here that if you ever needed Metalink access "we" could hook you up.
