You should use the 8i export and 9i import.

    Hi,

well, can i run the 8i export from the 9i db? Our backups were earlier stored on a machine which has been upgraded to 9i from 8i as such none of the exports are running. All our dbs are 8i except the one which has been upgraded to 9i and this machine which has oracle 9i has the scheduler set to export all the the schemas from the other 8i dbs. This 9i machine has a separate drive to store the export dump files and the other 8i dbs do not have space to store the export dumps. As such I can not reschedule the exports from the 8i machines.
    Is there any work around?

    Parijat
