    Question Oracle 9i Standard edition one

    has anyone used standard edition one?
    and also does anyone know if you can use automatic archive logs on it cos on my test server it doesnt seem to like it.

    Are you talking about setting up a standby server with Oracle 9i Standard edition? If so then in the Standard edition Oracle won't automatically archive to another database, it also won't save archive logs on a network drive. You will need to transfer the archive logs manually. But depending on your os, you should be able to come up with some scripts to move the archivelogs to the standby server. In fact if you do a search there is probably some scripts out there already.

    btw, you might want to list any messages, errors, entries in the alert log.
