    import into 9i

    Hi friends,
    e
    I have created a 9i database on server 2. I have taken the FULL EXPORT of 9i db in server 1.

    In Server 2, I have also created the same users and tablespaces as in server 1.

    My question is: Can I do a FULL ImPORT into the server 2 ?
    I read somewhere that users are not necessary to be created for FULL IMPORT as the export dump will already have scripts to create users.

    SInce i have already created users, should I drop them or can I go ahead and do import with full =Y of the export dmp file ?

    Thanks

    You can go ahead with the ignore=y.

    You can go ahead with or without IGNORE=Y, since it does not have any effect on import regarding users, roles, tablespaces, etc... creation.

    Correct, only if tables are precreated use ignore=y. My mistake...
