Clinet connection and the timeout
Hello,
One of our producton database is running on Oracle 8174 version on Windows 2000 Server.
Several users are connecting from remote locations to this database. At present when ever the network slows down/hick-up for 2 seconds the client sessions are getting disconnected immediately.
Is there any way that we can increase the connection time to verify the client connectivity to an highr value in listener.ora or in tnsnames.ora??????
Thanks,
Nikee

Have you looked at connection manager?

Hello,
The Oracle Connection manager is gr8, but you connect manage/increase the time interval to check the connectivity between the client and the server.
Thanks,

Have you tried setting sqlnet.expire_time=0 in your sqlnet.ora on your client?
Purpose: Determines time interval to send a probe to verify the session is alive.
Setting it to 0 should turn off this feature.
