Thread: Coexistence of Oracle 8.1.6 & 8.0.5

    Hello,

    I am researching the possibility of running Oracle 8.1.6 and 8.0.5 on the same Windows NT based server.

    This will enable the production dbs to gradually be moved across to 8.1.6.

    Are there any know problems with this if it is possible?

    Not that I am aware of. Make sure that you specify a different ORACLE_HOME for the install of the new version (as compared to the existing one)

    hi,
    i have run 8.0.4,8.1.5 and 8.1.6 databases on the same NT machine simultaneously, the only problem i faced was with listeners because i could not get two listeners to listen on the same port. Instead i configured the 8.1.6 listener to listen to the other two databases also. It worked
