    Removal Oracle 9i

We have a Windows XP machine from which we have tried to remove Oracle 9 so we can reinstall due to some problems.

However, even with cleaning the registry and removing all folders referenced, there are still four services left behind.

This means that when Oracle tries to reinstall, it reports exisiting services are stopping it from installing.

    Any ideas?

did you use the installer to remove it or manually delete folders?

If you need to delete services google for service deletion or something, few tools about to do it

The uninstaller was used and then everything left cleaned up manually.

    Talking

Did you reboot, apply the latest OS Patches, reboot, hold the power button off for 7 seconds, and then turn it back on???

regedt32 man , all the way, forgo the backup of the registry as that's for wimps.

but seriously folks, you've been a great crowd, thanks for coming out today

remove the services from the registry and of course back it up before you do so

search metalink for "clean machine" and you'll get a nifty doc for doing this
I'm stmontgo and I approve of this message
