    2 GB Ram OS

    hi

how much Mb should be allocated to
large_pool_size & java_pool_size when the OS is having 2 GB ram

other info is shared _pool_size is 553 MB

is there any thumb rule for the two for space allocation.

The question is are you utilizing java or parralell server. In which case if you're not don't bother allocating any memory to these parameters. If you are a good rule of thumb for java is about 20megs and large pool 10 megs on up.
    Oracle it's not just a database it's a lifestyle!
