    session timeout parameter

    Is there any parameter, which sets the conection time per session. If there is such parameter, where to set it?
    database version 8.1.6

    I don't know if you can do this in 8.1.6 but in 9i you can create a profile and assign the time out there. but you have to also set the resource limit parameter in the init.ora.

    This is also possible in 8.1.7 ; the creation of such a profile in fact already was possible in Oracle 7

    I have such profile and the time is set to unlimited.
    What about this resource limit parameter in the init.ora
