    Question drop temporary tablespace

    what occurs if the database is down and drop de fisical datafile (TEMP tablespace) and i tried startup database? somebody know, tahnks

    Startup on nomount

    Create new temp TBSPace

    and open your db

    then if the datafile is drop the database not open, is true

    do you know what error occurs?

    depends on if your temporary tablespace is permanent or temporary.

    If your TEMP tablespace is temporary and the datafiles are not there, then the database will come up but nobody will be able to use it until you add a tempfile.

    A permanent temporary tablespace is (basically) just like a regular tablespace; it needs to be there for the database to come up.
